Mouthwash should protect, not assault. Yet many industrial formulas contain high-alcohol bases, sodium lauryl sulphate, colours and artificial sweeteners. Short term they mask breath; long term they disrupt the oral microbiome and can irritate tissue.
What a natural mouthwash does
Based on aromatic water and wild oregano essential oil, it offers broad-spectrum antimicrobial action without destroying beneficial flora. Carvacrol selectively targets pathogens.
What to look for on the label
- Alcohol free: no dryness, no irritation
- SLS free: no aggressive surfactant
- No colours: a cloudy natural look is a quality signal
- Natural active: carvacrol, thymol, menthol, sage
How to use it
Rinse for 30 seconds, twice daily after meals. Do not dilute beyond recommendation. Do not swallow. A mild bitter sensation is normal — the plant is working.
