Wild Oregano Oil: Natural Strength Through History

Wild oregano is no ordinary culinary herb. The Greeks called it origanon, joy of the mountain, and used it for wounds, digestion and aches. Hippocrates prescribed it for cough; the Egyptians used it to preserve food. Its reputation has travelled two thousand years unchanged.

What wild oregano oil really is

Only one species, Origanum minutiflorum, grows at high altitude on the Taurus mountains of Turkey. The severe climate is precisely what builds its exceptional phytochemistry, with carvacrol concentrations reaching 80%.

What research confirms

Studies from the University of Belgrade have documented activity against pathogens including MRSA and Candida albicans, and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects at the cellular level. Unlike a classical antibiotic, carvacrol damages the bacterial membrane non-specifically, making resistance far harder to develop.

How to add it to your routine

In cold months, 1-2 drops in a teaspoon of olive oil in the morning supports natural defences. For the throat, 1 drop in hot tea. For skin, always diluted in a carrier oil. Never neat, never in eyes or mucous membranes.
